Nicki Minaj moves forward minus Diddy
Hello…good-bye.
Young Money first lady Nicki Minaj is no longer seeking guidance from Diddy. XXLMag.com reports that Nicki is calling it quits with managers, Diddy and James Cruz. Gee Roberson and Kyambo “Hip Hop” Joshua at Hip-Hop since 1978 are taking over as the Harajuku Barbie’s new managers.
Nicki, along with rapper Rick Ross, signed with Diddy in April 2010 after leaving her then-manager Debra Antney (aka Waka Flocka Flames' mama). Why is Nicki signing off with Diddy now? The answer is unknown. Yet, a source told XXL that Nicki expected more out of Diddy as her manager, but was disappointed.
Does this surprise you? It shouldn’t. A few months after signing on the dotted line, rumors circulated that Nicki was leaving Diddy, whom she felt was a little overbearing.
Nicki confirmed the professional split in a release stating, “I am strict when it comes to my representation. I had sympathy for Sean, however, I feel as if I haven’t gotten the guidance the manager is suppose to give his clients.”
Nicki, Diddy and James Cruz are still in good terms, despite the change in representation.
