Erykah Badu shuts down relationship rumors
Erykah Badu wants to make it clear that she is not getting back together with her babydaddy D.O.C.
D.O.C. let it slip that he's staying with Erykah while he works Detox, Dr. Dre's long-awaited album. In the recent interview with The Dallas Observer, D.O.C.'s comments seemed to imply that he was rekindling the romance with Erykah, who is the mother of his 7-year-old daughter named Puma.
Erykah's camp, however, has moved to clear up any confusion on their relationship.
"Erykah Badu and The D.O.C. share parental responsibilities for their daughter and their relationship as it regards that aim is very good," Badu World rep Paul Levantino said in a statement. "However, that is the full extent of their personal involvement and no romantic dynamic exists between the two."
Paul also made it clear that Erykah has no plans for further participation in D.O.C.'s reality show, "I Got My Voice Back," outside or her rare appearances on the show. Even on the occasion that she does show up on screen, those guest spots won't be shot in her Dallas home, and prospective viewers should not expect to see her with the kids or getting cozy with D.O.C.
"Erykah has no plans to marry or have any sort of courtship with the D.O.C.," her rep stated. "Ms. Badu has no plans to allow a reality show to be filmed in her private Dallas residence or to include any of her children in the filming."
