TNT cancels 'HawthoRNe' after three seasons

Jada Pinkett Smith is out of a job now that "HawthoRNe" has wrapped its third (and apparently final) season.

TNT has announced that it won't be bringing Jada's show back for another round, according to Deadline.com. "TNT has decided not to order a fourth season of HawthoRNe," read a network statement. "TNT truly appreciates the tremendous dedication of everyone involved in 'HawthoRNe'."

TNT's statement didn't shed light on why it decided not the renew the popular medical drama, which pulled in 3.6 million viewers for its season 3 finale last month.

"The series gave TNT the opportunity to work with many outstanding people, including Jada Pinkett Smith and the rest of the show’s talented cast, crew, producers and writers," read the TNT release. "We wish everyone involved with 'HawthoRNe' nothing but the best."

This news comes less than two weeks after Jada and her husband, Will Smith, fought off rumors that they were breaking up. The couple has also been hounded by gossip that Jada's chemistry with her "HawthoRNe" co-star Marc Anthony had sparked an affair.

Both Marc and Jada have denied that their relationship is anything other than professional.

According to Deadline, "HawthoRNe" is the second show to be cut from TNT's roster of shows this summer. "Men of a Certain Age" was also dropped this year.
