Serena Williams has to pay up for her outburst at the women's final of the U.S. Open.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Serena has been fined $2,000 for insulting an umpire yesterday during her match against Samantha Stosur.

But that's not all! According to ABC News, Serena might not be allowed to play at the tournament next year after losing her cool on the court on Sunday. The tennis pro was losing the match, when she shouted while returning a ball.

The outburst came after she'd already broken a racquet. The umpire deemed that Serena's action "deliberate interferance" and awarded to point to Serena's opponent. Clearly, the crowd disagreed with the call as well: they booed the official for a full minute.

Serena, on the other hand, confronted the umpire directly. "Aren't you the one that screwed me over last time here?" Serena could be heard asking. "Seriously, you have it out for me. And I promise you that's not cool. That is totally not cool."

While walking away, she added, "I truly despise you." During a break between sets, Serena later explained, "I told her, 'You're a hater and you're unattractive inside.'"

After the match, Serena was gracious in defeat and didn't remember much of the incident. "I guess I'll see it on YouTube. I don't know," she told reporters, explaining that she was really in the zone during Sunday's match.

The fallout from her outburst isn't over yet, however, as Serena awaits the penalties for her actions on the court. The tennis pro could be ordered to pay a fine and she may be banned from participating in the U.S. Open next year.
