Marlon Wayans to return to TV
The Wayans brothers don’t stay still for long, and now that Damon’s “My Wife & Kids” is a thing of the past, Marlon is set to fill the void with a new TV series.
Marlon, who starred with brother Shawn in "The Wayans Bros.” sitcom, will once again be playing the role of a sibling in the new comedic cop series.
Marlon, the youngest of the famous siblings, will reportedly write, executive produce and star in the unnamed series, according to Deadline.com.
The role likely won’t be much of a stretch for Marlon, who played alongside his brother Shawn in the comedy White Chicks, in which the duo portrayed undercover police officers wearing a ton of makeup; but it’s unclear whether any of his brothers will join him on the new show.
The series won’t be Marlon’s first time behind the scenes. The comedian has served as a writer for the brothers’ Scary Movie franchise.
Marlon’s new show is slated to run on ABC, the network that currently airs “Happy Endings,” starring Marlon’s nephew, Damon Wayans, Jr.
