After resolving its 149-day lockout on November 26, the NBA is busily preparing for a Christmas day comeback. We asked Hall of Fame inductee Kareem Abdul-Jabbar what he thought of the deal that ended the lockout.

“It was pretty fair,” Kareem told S2S. “Anytime you have a labor dispute, both sides think that they’re absolutely right and the other side is absolutely wrong. The NBA players ended up with maybe 6 percent less than what they had been getting and giving today’s economic circumstances, that’s pretty good. They shouldn’t complain about that.”

Sure beats being unemployed with the mansion mortgage pending. 

Kareem added, “If everybody else out here that’s unemployed had only lost 6 percent, they’d be in the streets rejoicing right now, given how tough things are.”
