Kardashian magazine on the way?
As if TV shows, fashion lines and books were not enough, the Kardashians want to conquer the newsstand, too.
The Kardashian clan is maneuvering for its very own magazine, according to the New York Post. The family members have met with American Media Inc. (AMI) and they are just about to ink a deal for a Kardashian-centered publication.
“This is a Kardashian idea,” a source said. “They have been reaching out to several media outlets.”
AMI is a the parent company of the National Enquirer, Star magazine and Shape.
The aim of the as-yet untitled Kardashian mag would be something like a fanzine that keeps readers informed about the latest family news. It would be a whole new way to keep up with the Kardashians! (Sorry, we couldn't resist). The magazine would also offer the Kardashians the chance to spin their very own stories.
Sisters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney want to be deeply involved in the editorial process, but momager Kris Jenner will not be editor-in-chief. It is expected, however, that Kris will play a major role in guiding the publication.
Along with news of a magazine, comes buzz that the Kardashians may also be immortalized by Mattel.
Us Weekly reports that the toy company is planning to release a line of limited edition Kardashian Barbie dolls this year.
"The dolls will reflect the girls' measurements and may even come in Kardashian-designed outfits," a source dished.
That could explain why Kim has been reaching out to Barbie via Twitter.
"Merry Christmas Barbs @BarbieStyle! Long time no see! What did Ken get you for Christmas? Miss you doll!,"Kim tweeted over the holidays.
Barbie replied, "Happy Doll-idays to you too @KimKardashian! See you in 2012?"
