Oprah Winfrey named Blue Ivy's godmom
New mom and dad, Beyoncé and Jay-Z, have selected the godparents of their precious new bundle of joy, Blue Ivy.
In addition to having two famous parents, arguably the hottest twosome in all of hip-hop and R&B, Blue Ivy’s rumored godmother is no slouch, either. The former queen of daytime, Oprah Winfrey has reportedly been asked to do the honors, according to MediaTakeout.
It’s no doubt that baby Blue will be surrounded by an impressive group of movers, shakers and entertainment elite, but with the appointment of Oprah as godmother, even more doors will be opened for the infant.
Sources say that Oprah and Bey have become close and the power couple wanted godparents who not related.
Godmother duties aren’t new to Oprah who is already the godmother of Gayle King’s children Kirby and Will Bumpus. As for the godfather, Jay’s best friend, Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith has been named. Jay has been biggin’ him up with shout-out references since Reasonable Doubt all the way to The Blue Print 3.
Beyonce and Jay-Z have yet to publicly speak on life as parents. Could it be that they'll introduce the world to Blue Ivy on "Oprah's Next Chapter"?
